Strength TogetHER 11 - Session 2

 


June 12, 2021.

Facilitated by Lokopakar, "Strength togetHER" is a virtual space where girls having different stories come together and share their experiences and opinions.In addition to that, we also get to know the experiences of other people on that topic and gain new insights. On every alternative Saturday, we organize a session, where we invite one guest speaker. Within a very short period of time, this platform has been expanded to all the states of Nepal. It has personally  helped me to gain self confidence and realize my self worth, And I happened to be part of the coordinator family too.


 On  2021 ,June 12, Saturday at around 12:00 pm we around 25 girls gathered via zoom to talk about “Yoga for health”which was moderated by Ronali Amatya,Founder of MŌda , a yoga studio, founded with a mission to help people be more aware of themselves and their choices towards healthier a lifestyle.

Miss.Ronali is a proactive influencer who has represented Nepal as Miss Nepal International 2018 and Miss Eco International 2017.

She found her interest in pageantry after she won Model Hunt Nepal 2016.Starting with the session, I was very nervous.Since this was my first time with a moderator.However session started with introduction of Lokopakar and Strength togetHER. After a short introduction, participants became more comfortable with each other and started coming forward to share their stories:


  • Our first speaker shared her story of her as a child neglecting to go to yoga classes, and now she has this tendency to again join the session.


  • Our second speaker shared her story about yoga classes, she shared how beneficial yoga has been to her. She shared her experience of how when she was doing yoga she felt so energetic for a whole day.


  • Our third speaker shared her workout journey and how when she was a child she used to visit her grandpa’s yoga classes every saturday because they used to have dance sessions.


  • Our fourth speaker shared her workout journey and about all the results she has seen by far. 

  

When all the speakers were done sharing their stories, Ronali Mam shared her journey of not being able to fit in Miss Nepal journey, and how at one time she started dieting so badly that it led to serious health issues.  And how gradually she started her yoga journey. 


After listening to Mam’s journey few participants ask questions related to yoga such as:

  • Does yoga help us to get regular periods?
  • How do we cut the junk foods?

Mam gave us a few tips too such as quitting junks for 30 days first and also while we go to restaurants also  we can order healthy foods such as soup or salad.

After giving all the answers, mam also shared about her yoga classes, and many of our participants were excited to be part of that too.Summing up, for me It was a very fruitful session. I was very nervous at the beginning but it ended up so well. That now I feel so proud <3.
